e.off

Az.Namusn.Art collaborating with two local anonymous street writers, just for one night shuts down symbolically the coal burning Power Station, owned by the German multinational Group "E.on", transforming graphically the gigantic sign, turning "E.on" into "E:off". The next day, a press release as been sent to all the Sardinian newspapers and to the local Tv stations by an e-mail, having, as the sender, Wulf H. Bernotat, Managing Director of the German Society.

e.on Italia is one of the most important operator in the field of electricity in Italy. It's owned by the group e.on, the world largest private energetic group. e.off instead, is our answer to those that attempt to anaesthetize the vox pop. Sardinian Regional Administration is not only a partner of the umpteenth environmental crime, but it has also tried to muzzle up the popular dissents.

e.off is the indignation that copies - and overlays - the coloured faces of private speculation whose damaging nature. e.off covering up, shows the profit shared by the public and the private. e.off is a simple act, but devastating. We draw up a report for those that have no rights to reply. It's the symbol of possible changes. It's the only hope to survive: if deed becomes a collectiveness, responsibility becomes universal.

e.off is negative marketing. A trade mark that hide infamy under fame. Maybe they're already arrive to cover dust under the carpet, but we have shown their weakness. They're unbeatable only if we let our self get rocked by inertia. We got brain and legs, intelligence and indignation. We'll be always there. Now they know. And this is the first victory.

We, as victims of censorship and pollution; we, as hunted by unemployment and industrial colonization; we, as we claim for dignity, we are forced to act abusively, in a secret dark night; we, as Carbonari against the coal!
